Acer è la prima azienda pronta ad immettere sul mercato un prodotto basato su piattaforma NVIDIA® ION™ .

Il nuovo Acer AspireRevo sfrutta un processore da 1.6GHz Intel Atom 230, può essere dotato di 4GB di RAM e montare un Hard Disk di capacità fino a 250GB, monta un card reader 4-in-1 card, HDMI / VGA outputs, gigabit Ethernet, sei porte USB 2.0, audio audio in / out, Windows Vista Home Premium / Basic.

Come già annunciato la grafica integrata GeForce9400M (con supportoalla tecnologia NVIDIA® CUDA™ technology ) permette di gestire flussi video 1080p e il supporto alle DirectX 10 offre la possibilità di utilizzare senza problemi l'AspireRevo anche nell'aspetto ludico in giochi come Call of Duty 4 e Spore.

Date di commercializzazione e prezzi non sono stati ancora resi noti.

Purtroppo gli MKV non vengono accellerati (ad oggi) dalla GPU, quindi potrebbero non funzionare correttamente. I film in h.264 però, con mediaplayer classic e qualche trucchetto girano perfettamente (da contenitore MKV).
Ieri parlando con zilla, è uscito che forse c'è un programmino che riesce a riprodurli usando la gpu, ma non riusciamo a trovarlo :crazy

Se NVIDIA e VIA decidono di sfornare una CPU simil-Nano ma un pò più potente e performante (e VIA ultimamente sta sfornando capolavori), Intel, AMD, Qualcomm e tutti gli altri possono iniziare a ca**rsi addosso.

allora dovrebbe rimanere sotto i $300... ora qualche settimana fa si parlava di un'altro prodotto Acer chiamato Hornet sempre su base Ion... ora non so se è lo stesso prodotto (sono simili esteticamente e anche le caratteristiche si somigliano) e quello era un nome "provvisorio" o se sono due prodotti simili ma pensati per "esigenze" diverse.

We just received a ton of information on that hot little Acer Hornet nettop we'd heard about a while back, and if this pile of documentation is as real as it looks, this thing could be the holy grail of cheap HTPCs -- not only does it support 1080p video playback over HDMI, the "Media Center" version will indeed come with a Wii-like remote that can be used for gaming as well as media control. Specs look more than decent for the targeted $149-$299 price range: the low end model pairs what sounds like an Atom N230 with 1GB of RAM and an 80GB drive preloaded with Vista Home Basic, while higher end models get 2GB of RAM, a 160GB drive, and a "Boxshell" quickboot OS in addition to Vista Home Premium. All this plus super-quiet sub-26dB operation and a slick diamond-shaped chassis designed to hang off the back of your flatscreen? P.S. We know that upper-right image is a ripped Nintendo press image, but this slide actually leaked from elsewhere a month ago -- and unless someone's decided to go way beyond the usual fakery by meticulously crafting the 20-page technical and supplier info document and lengthy presentations we received today, we're thinking this is actually real and not some April Fools thing. Let's hope!
