    Intanto,, quando fate le prove, per cortesia prendete nota dei seguenti Settings:

    PCM Resampling
    MAX Sample Rate (valore selezionato e valori disponibili).

    Decoding Force to media server (si o no)
    Resampling (Player o Server)

    quindi copiate i log del transcoder e di squeezelite integralmente, con questi elementi si riesce a fareuna disanima completa.

    Per il log di Transcode, non appare piú nel menu a tendina. L´unica voce é squeezelite

    Allora, ho fatto le prove con tulle le combinazioni dei parametri:

    PCM Resampling (Maximum Syncronous sample rate/Maximum sample rate/Only if native rate not supported)

    Decoding Force to media server (Si/no)

    Resampling (Player/Media Server)

    Ho tenuto Max Sample Rate sempre impostato su HW Limit: 48000, che a causa del solito problema del driver purtroppo mi 'castra' e lascia un minimmo di incertezza sul reale comportamente qualora siano disponibili più samplerate, anche se il risultato postato da Filippo, mi fa pensare che tutto funzioni come deve, per assoluta certezza,servirebbe una prova con PCM Resamplig impostato su Maximum sample rate ed una seconda su Only if native rate not supported.


    Comunque, ogni parametro agisce su aspetti diversi:

    PCM Resampling definisce SE deve essere fatto il resampling ed in quali condizioni, come documentato e lo fa:

    a) Impostando il parametro -R (-u) nel lancio di Squeezelite.

    b) impostando il parametro -r nel lancio di Squeezelite:

    - Maximum Syncronous sample rate -> -r max11025 , max12000 (virgola, non -)
    - Maximum sample rate -> -r max-max (equivale a mettere solo max).
    - Only if native rate not supported -r min,...,max (cioè l'elenco completo).

    Decoding Force to media server stabilsce se la conversione di formato deve avvenire sul server o sul client, agendo sui parametridi Transcode (che equivale al custom-convert.conf).

    Usa metodi diversi rispetto a quelli usuali, facendo largo uso di ffmpeg.

    Ad esempio, da flac passa sempre a wav con ffmpeg, poi in un caso riesegue l'encoding in flac (con flac) nell'altro in Aiff ancora con ffmpeg.


    Resampling stabilisce se il resampling deve avvenire sul server o sul player, lo fa:

    a) settando il parametro di lancio -h di squeezelite (esclusivo di daphile).
    b) Se Player, agendo sui parametri di transcode, aggiungendo l'upsample con SOX.

    In questo modo funziona sempre, ffmpeg viene usato per enucleare la singola traccia (al posto di flac) e per le conversioni flac/wav/aiff, sox per l'upsampling e flac solo per l'eventuale encoding in uscita (che a mio avviso è da evitare, specialmente se si è sulla stessa macchina).

    @Filippo: ho fatto bene ad aspettare, in prima battuta avevo capito molto peggio...

    Per il log di Transcode, non appare piú nel menu a tendina. L´unica voce é squeezelite

    Filippo, attenzione, tu in questo caso non stai più usando Daphile come server, quindi non usi transcode... Non è la situazione cui fa riferimento DacPassion e nemmeno io nelle prove che riporto.

    A quanto ho capito Daphile come server fa la conversione per tutti i tipi di file

    A differenza di come facevamo noi in LMS che impostavamo la conversione in PCM per esempio solo per i FLAC

    A differenza di come facevamo noi in LMS che impostavamo la conversione in PCM per esempio solo per i FLAC
    Con i setting che hai usato tu qui si, non proprio di tutti, ma di quelli gestiti da transcode, che sono i più comuni. Comanda sempre File Type e convert.conf comunque, quindi puoi in qualche modo controllare Daphile, ma devi fare i conti con quello che mette nella riga di comando di Squeezelite.

    Certo è che se uno si adatta (ed è il prezzo da pagare) ha un'interfaccia verso i parametri di SOX ben più amichevole che non la riga di comando in custom-convert.conf...

    Puoi, cortesemente, provare con "Only if native rate not supported"? grazie, voglio verificare in via definitiva cosa mette in -r.
