NVIDIA Linux Susped Mode
With an inquiry from one of our readers (Tako Schotanus), we spent some time today looking at the suspend/hibernation support of NVIDIA's private 1.0-8751 Beta drivers. With the 1.0-8751 drivers, we used Fedora Core 5 and the 2.6.16 kernel. With the tests we have done thus far, it appears that the suspend and resume support may be improved beyond past proprietary NVIDIA driver releases -- but it may partially be due to improvements in Fedora Core 5 Bordeaux. We had called the system into suspend mode several times and in various scenarios. In this testing, we have yet to come across any specific problems pertaining to Linux suspend with NVIDIA's proprietary 1.0-8751 drivers. For those that had missed our latest posting regarding this matter, we are still anticipating NVIDIA will release these drivers to the public towards the beginning of April.

e infatti sono l'unico sfigato che per provare sta emrda di Xgl sta da 2 settimane senza pc da combattimento.. per giunta ho smontato anche il raffreddamenteo a liquido per incrementarlo... mi sento triste... dicono ad aprile... si ma quando?.. e sta ubuntu 64 del menga non funziona!!!!!!!!!! (vede la tabella delle partizioni un po' come vuole...

A parte al XGL (ho cambiato sk video e preso un 1GB di ram anche per provare com'è sta figata pazzesca ) mi interesserebbe provare XEN. Mi incuriosice tantissimo, se davvero le prestazioni delle macchine virtualizzate sono quelle promesse credo di aver trovato con cosa masturbarmi il cervello nei prossimi mesi...

Tu che dici??? E' troppo complicato da gestire un sistema del genere per chi sà solo vagamente cosa sia una macchina virtuale????

P.S:

Se non ricordo male anche a me dava problemi la ubuntu. Però bastava passare dalla modalità automatizzata a quella esperto ed il problema si risolveva senza mettere mano a nulla. Hai provato???

l problema della ubuntu è che per forza dovevo mantenere la modalità manuale, che sulle altre distro andava benissimo, e che invece li non vedeva l'md1, anzi lo chiamava uno quando doveva essere md0, ecc ecc.....Avendo 5 dischi di cui un raid0 e winzoz e ecc... non potevo usare automatismi.. mi avrebbe ucciso tutto.. ti rispondo in un altro post....
