The DA2 is EMM Labs next generation flagship DAC. It’s been redesigned from the ground up, with the following revisions:
1. The improved analog stages are said to offer increased transparency.
2. The multi-award winning MDAT2 DSP has been refined and updated to synergistically work with the new 16xDSD MDAC. The new MDAT2 DSP does real-time transient detection, processing and up-conversion of all incoming audio, PCM and DSD, before sending it to the new 16xDSD MDAC.
3. Proprietary hardware galvanic isolation for the USB interface.
4. Every other system from the proprietary jitter removal MFAST to the MCLK clock have been carefully revised for better sound.
Inputs -> 1xAES, 1xUSB Audio, 2xSPDIF, 2xTOSLINK
Outputs -> Balanced and un-balanced analog outputs (both can be used at the same time)
EMM Labs claims that with the MDAT DSP engine and MDAC already running at 16xDSD (DSD1024, 45Mhz/49Mhz) the unit is basically future proof and is a substantial improvement over the DAC2X.
The DA2 will be shipping in late 2015 with a projected RRP of US$25,000 in the standard finish. There is also the limited edition TX2 SACD/CD transport (40 units only) that goes with the DA2 which will also retail for US$25,000.
Standard finishes are silver with titanium insert and buttons or black with black insert and buttons. Premium plated inserts and buttons are available including 24K gold and nickel/silver etc. with custom plating also available.
In pratica fa un upsampling di tutto il segnale in entrata a SDM 45Mhz e 49Mhz. Ovviamente gli ingressi accetteranno molto meno.
