As many other mainboards of other manufacturers your DFI mainboard has a "LEGACY mode" nForce4 chipset. "LEGACY mode" nForce chipsets do support SataRaid and PataRaid simultaneously. Newer nForce Raid chipsets are only supporting S-ATA drives.

The final version of Vista has nForce SataRaid drivers in-the-box, but Vista Setup cannot use them with LEGACY mode nForce4 chipset mainboards because of some entries within the nForce driver information (=INF) file. So if you load the original Vista nForce SataRaid drivers with a modified INF file, Vista Setup will detect the RAID array even of LEGACY mode nForce4 SataRaid systems. Only nForce PataRaid systems are not supported at all
